Speaking & Workshops

My work lives at the intersection of belonging, communication, and conflict - the places where human systems either fracture or grow wiser.

Belonging is not just a feeling — it is a design choice that shapes whether human systems remain open enough to learn, adapt, and thrive.

The Conditions That Allow Systems to Thrive…

Relational Capacity in Practice

For more than four decades, I worked as an educator and relational mediator in schools, healthcare settings, and community systems. In those roles, I facilitated hundreds of conversations where people felt unseen, unheard, or stuck — learning firsthand how belonging, nervous system regulation, and communication shape whether human systems fracture or grow wiser.

Through speaking and interactive workshops, I invite groups to explore how belonging, nervous systems, and relational capacity shape the environments we create together.

Speaking Topics

Belonging is a Design Choice

How the environments we design shape whether people shut down, polarize, or participate — and why belonging is essential infrastructure for human systems navigating complexity.

Why Conversations Break Down

Beneath every difficult conversation are nervous systems seeking safety and dignity. This talk explores how regulation, belonging, and relational capacity shape whether conflict becomes fragmentation — or learning.

Staying in the Circle

In complex systems, the ability to stay present with difference may be our most important collective skill. This talk explores the conditions that allow people to remain in relationship, to be curious, and to engage in shared problem-solving.

Interactive Workshop Topics

Cultivating Relational Capacity

How do we create environments where people feel safe enough to participate, listen, and contribute their wisdom?

In this interactive workshop, participants explore the role nervous system regulation, pacing, and relational awareness play in communication and collaboration. Through guided reflection and dialogue, we examine how small shifts in presence and attention can expand trust, clarity, and collective learning.

Navigating Conflict Without Losing the Circle

Conflict is a natural part of human systems — but when nervous systems move into protection, conversations often collapse into blame, withdrawal, or polarization.

Drawing on decades of mediation and restorative dialogue work, this workshop helps participants explore the relational and physiological dynamics beneath difficult conversations. Together we practice approaches that support dignity, accountability, and repair.

Designing Environments of Belonging

Belonging does not happen by accident. It emerges from the environments we create together.

In this workshop, participants explore how policies, norms, and everyday relational practices shape whether people feel able to participate fully in a system. Through reflection and small-group dialogue, we examine how belonging can be intentionally cultivated in classrooms, organizations, and communities.
